This project was a very fun one. There are many body systems that are essential to our living and functioning. These systems can include many different organs and their functions. They also need to interact with each other for the whole body to function as one. Our groups goal was to pick two of these body systems. We would find the function, any major organs, and how they interact with each other. We would then build a model showing their functions and how they interacted with each other. Our group picked the muscular system and the skeletal system. I dont have a picture of them but here is what we did.
We had a wood 2x4 base showing our skeleton. We used two of these and connected them with stretchable material to act as the joint, showing how the skeletal system moves. We then attached a balloon to the outer parts of both peices of wood to act as our musccles, which moved the bones. We tied the sides down with rubberbands to show how they were conected by the "tendons."
Our second model was a circle of upright 2x4 that served as the ribcage. We then put a balloon in the center showing the skeletal systems function, protecting inner organs. Down below is our groups presentation.

Concepts:
Muscular system:an organ system consisting of skeletal, smooth and cardiac muscles. It permits movement of the body, maintains posture, and circulates blood throughout the body. Our function for it in our project was that it is the force that allows the body to move and that it helps blood flow and helps with digestion.
Skeletal system: The framework of the body, consisting of bones and other connective tissues, which protects and supports the body tissues and internal organs. The human skeleton contains 206 bones, six of which are the tiny bones of the middle ear (three in each ear) that function in hearing. Our function for it in our project was that it protected internal organs and helped the muscles to move.
These are muscles that are in the function of them.
Skeletal muscle: a muscle that attaches to bones and has voluntary movement
Smooth muscle: A muscle that helps move food in digestive tract, controls blood flow, isnt voluntary movement, and doesnt need a nervous stimulation.
Cardiac muscle: The muscle in the heart. It is similar to the other muscles and is not directly controlled by the nervous system
Skeletal system organs:
Bones: provide levers for movement. They hold the body up.
Cartilage: firm, whitish, flexible connective tissue found in various forms in the larynx and respiratory tract, in structures such as the external ear, and in the articulating surfaces of joints. It is more widespread in the infant skeleton, being replaced by bone during growth. This is what protects major organs.
Joints: hold the bones together. In our project the joints were the stretchy material connecting the two bones.
Types:
Imovable: a joint that cannot move.
Slightly movable: a joint that has restricted movement.
Freely movable:A joint that can move freely in one or moe directions.
Reflection:
This project i tried to fix my problems i had last project. My two peaks were i was always on task working and taking control of situations. I worked on the models and did a lot of planning and researching. I took control and gave out ideas for building and preparing. My two pits were tiredness and attitude. With the coming days of finals I was pretty nervous and sometimes my thoughts drifted. I should of let it go and focused instead on the project at hand. The good thing was that this project kind of helped take the tress off of me and allowed me to work. Other than that this was a very fun project and I learned a lot about how our bodies work together and allowus to live.
